Fnatic announces new MAYA gaming mouse

Esports organisation Fnatic has announced a new mouse for its Fnatic Gear line of gaming peripherals and hardware called MAYA.

The mouse, co-created by Fnatic and peripherals brand Lamzu, is a wireless ultralight gaming mouse in Fnatic’s signature orange colour. The product will be available in two sizes later this month.

Fnatic is known for its competitive esports endeavours, but the company has a long-standing hardware segment that has produced mice, headsets, keyboards and mousepads in the past. Recently, Fnatic launched an all-new mousepad called Dash2. The company leverages its competitive experience and has its players provide inputs on the development of new products, such as the mentioned mousepad and the STREAK series of keyboards.

Interestingly, the new mouse is actually co-developed by Fnatic and Lamzu, a company specialising in high-end peripherals. An original version of the mouse was launched earlier this year and was well-received by critics and consumers. This is not the first collaboration between the two companies; Fnatic sells a customised version of the Lamzu Thorn mouse already through its website.

The Fnatic version features a bright orange colour scheme and the Fnatic logo alongside the Lamzu one. Overall, the Fnatic version features different switches (Omron vs Huano) and has the upgraded 8K dongle included in the box — Lamzu ships the MAYA with a 4K dongle, and the 8K one can be purchased separately.

Coming in two sizes with the larger one called MAYA X, the MAYA is an ultralight gaming mouse, coming in at around 45g for the smaller and 47g for the larger version. The two mice differ in shape slightly. Both versions are internally the same, featuring the Pixart 3950 sensor, one of the best on the market, an 80-hour battery life and an 8,000Hz polling rate. These specifications align the MAYA with other flagship products, such as the Razer Viper V3 Pro.

No information on pricing was shared, but the Lamzu MAYA 4K currently sells for £78 on the Lamzu website. The mouse will start shipping to customers in September 2024.
